Dragonball and Noriko

Dragonball and Noriko are my low-tech attempts to create a cyberspace immersive world.

Dragonball layers a readymade cloth banner of the anime character from Dragonball with visionary architect drawings of Los Angeles in conjunction with a moving Fresnel lens and lights to create this simulacra.

In Noriko, an image of the famous Japanese pop star in the 90’s is used to re-enact the opening scene of Blade Runner, where hovering advertisements tower above the city. Here, Noriko is combined with a transparency of flowers, optical devices, lights and motors to give it a sense of animation.
